“No one can do everything, but everyone can do something”- Author unknown.
Without the dedication and enthusiasm of its volunteers, The National Congress of Black Women Foundation (NCBWF) would not survive. The thousands of volunteer hours logged by community members of all ages and backgrounds benefit the children and adults in our programs in a variety of ways. Every act of generosity plants a seed where new possibilities can bloom.
Be an Advocate: You can be the voice and champion for those who do not have a voice, or you can be the means to champion a cause that helps those in need. You can campaign for a charitable cause in order to raise funds and awareness.
We have abundant volunteer opportunities, including:
- NCBWF program volunteer opportunities: These child-centered opportunities include mentoring or tutoring, assisting with arts and crafts, or helping with games and activities. Days and times vary; evening and weekend opportunities are available.
- Administrative opportunities: We are always in need of volunteers to perform various administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, copying, and assisting with mailings. Weekday hours between 0:00 a.m. and 0:00 p.m. are preferred, but we’re flexible, depending on availability.
